How we check prices

Trust is our whole product, so here is exactly how it works.

1. Exact-product matching

Every product is tracked by its manufacturer part number (MPN), not by name. "Portland cement 47 lb" exists in several nearly identical versions — we compare only listings for the exact same MPN, and when a retailer carries a look-alike variant instead, we tell you.

2. Daily automated checks

Our system re-checks retailer listings every morning at 6 AM Eastern. High-demand products are checked daily; slower-moving items are checked on a rotating schedule. Every page shows its own honest timestamp — if a product was last verified three days ago, the page says so.

3. What we record

4. Ranking

The lowest available price wins the top spot. Period. Affiliate relationships never affect ordering — a retailer that pays us nothing will still rank first if it's cheapest.

5. Buyer tips

Tips on product pages are summarized from verified buyer reviews across retailers, focused on things that change a buying decision: SKU confusion, quantity math, quality issues, and use-case fit.

Limits, honestly

Prices change during the day and vary by region and store. Treat our numbers as an accurate morning snapshot, and always confirm the final price at the retailer before ordering. If you find an error, tell us — corrections ship in the next morning's update.
